Saturday, October 3, 2015 walk from the Grove to Dinner Key area, marina, lunch at Scotty’s Landing to compare photos and back to our cars.

Background:

Scott Kelby's Annual Photo Walk is a worldwide phenomenon with walks in over 1,000 cities last year.  It is a social event where photographers get together (usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town) to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers. Frank Jimenez, the organizer and leader of this field trip, has registered KCC for this event in which we can also submit our images to be judged by Scott Kelby and his team for prizes.  Click here to go to the prizes page for more info.

Field trip details:

We meet at 10:00 AM (no need to get up early on a Saturday) in front of CocoWalk, by the Gap store.

From CocoWalk we cross Grand Avenue to McFarlane Rd. and continue to S. Bayshore Dr. walking by the parks and the view of the anchorage area and marina on our way to Dinner Key area and marina.

Continue to Miami City Hall. The building was PanAmerican Airline’s first operations site, where there are still mementos from the era.

After this photographic stroll, we will congregate at Scotty’s Landing for lunch and a refreshing drink while we compare and discuss the different photo ops of the morning.

After lunch, we can go back to our respective cars or continue a trek through the Grove.

We are trying to register this “walk” with the Scott Kelby 2015 World Photo Walk and each walker donates $1 no more-no less, to an orphanage in Kenya. If we can’t register with Scott Kelby, we will do it solely as a KCC activity.

DON’T FORGET: a hat, water to stay hydrated, and sun screen that does NOT contain DEET. (DEET contains a chemical substance that can damage your camera parts.)
